Bayelsa State Handball Team congratulate Governor Diri on his victory!

The Bayelsa State Handball Team has congratulated Governor Douye Diri of on his re-election.

The Team's Secretary Mr. Dimie Okara in Yenagoa before the team's departure to Lagos for the second phase of the Ardova Handball Premier League on Tuesday November 14th 2023 attributed Diri's victory to his good stewardship especially in sports during his first tenure in office.

Mr. Dimie commended Diri for his fair-mindedness and even spread of infrastructural projects to all sections and segments of the state in his first term, most especially his investment in Sports as shown in the performances of the Athletes and Sports teams in the state. 


The Chairman of Handball Association in the State Dcn. James Dugo who doubles as the Technical Adviser to the Governor said that as a result of the Governor's interest in developing the youths in the state through sports, the Bayelsa State Handball Team have been able to win three trophies since he assumed office in 2019.

He appreciated the Deputy Governor Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo for his efforts towards the state athletes and teams.

He also appreciated the people of the state for taking their destiny in their hands by their massive support for the Governor.

Bayelsa Queens (Handball) have left Yenagoa for Lagos today for the Second phase of the Ardova Handball Premier League, where they'll be hoping to avoid the drop to the second teir of the Handball Division.

‎Prosperity Cup Organizers to Commence Sale of Registration Forms ‎

Eguavoen, Fuludu, lead NFF team to Yenagoa for 3rd Prosperity Cup Coaching Clinic.

The Organizers of Nigeria's largest and most prestigious grassroots football showpiece, the prosperity cup in Bayelsa State are putting a week coaching clinic together to update and sharpen the technical abilities of coaches participating in this year's edition of the competition. The coaching clinic, which will be conducted by seasoned football experts begins on Monday, 3rd to 7th of March, 2025 at the NUJ Press Centre, Ekeki, Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital. Disclosing this to newsmen in Yenagoa, the Director General of the Prosperity cup Central Organizing Committee, Mr.Ono Akpe explained that the event, which is the first of two coaching clinics that will hold in course of this year's football fiesta, will have fifty coaches in attendance.
