7TH EDITION OF THE BAYELSA KID'S CUP: YENAGOA LGA TO TACKLE NEMBE LGA IN THE FINAL AFTER EXCITING SEMI FINALS

The final of the 7th Edition of the ongoing Bayelsa Kid's Cup will be between Yenagoa LGA against high flying Nembe LGA after contrasting semi finals respectively.

The first semi finals was an intriguing one as Yenagoa LGA defeated Sagbama LGA 8-7 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

While the second semi final of the competition was more of a one sided affair as Nembe LGA thrashed Ekeremor LGA 3-0 to advance to the final.

The match which will take place at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa will be graced by The Secretary to the Bayelsa State Government Prof. Nimibofa Ayawei as The Special Guest of Honour and Commissioner for Sports Development Champion Hon. Daniel Bariladei Igali who will serve as the Chairman of the Day.

Also in attendance are Hon. Mrs. Chief Ayibanegiyefa Egba Member Representing Yenagoa Constituency One in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly will serve as the mother of the day, Architect Reuben Okoya, as the Guest of Honour.

The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Sports Development Mrs. Grace Alagoa Aigbiniode, Former Commissioner For Sports Development Hon. Ebikitin Diongoli, Hon. Wisdom Kieribo, Bayelsa State Coordinator PDP Youth Alliance, National Vice President of Ysfon South-South Mr. Kali Gwegwe, The CEO Hotel Da-Crib Mr. Charles Brisibe Stakeholder in the Sports Industry are all expected to grace the final.

‎Prosperity Cup Organizers to Commence Sale of Registration Forms ‎

‎...Prize Money Increased to N30m in Celebration of 30th Anniversary of Bayelsa  ‎ ‎Organizers of Nigeria's biggest grassroots football tournament, the Bayelsa Governor's Football Tournament tagged the Prosperity Cup, say they have concluded plans for the sale of registration forms for Season eight of the competition. ‎ ‎Director General of the tournament, Mr. Ono Akpe in a statement on behalf of the Central Organizing Committee, COC, noted that this year's edition would witness some innovations.  ‎ ‎According to him, the sale of registration forms will commence from the 1st of December through the 15th of January, 2026 while the tournament will kick-off on the 13th of February, 2026 as part of the activities to celebrate the governor's sixth year in office.  ‎ ‎The statement noted that Season Eight would be a special edition to celebrate the 30 years anniversary of Bayelsa State with a special commemorative trophy, which has been specially designed and orde...

Eguavoen, Fuludu, lead NFF team to Yenagoa for 3rd Prosperity Cup Coaching Clinic.

The Organizers of Nigeria's largest and most prestigious grassroots football showpiece, the prosperity cup in Bayelsa State are putting a week coaching clinic together to update and sharpen the technical abilities of coaches participating in this year's edition of the competition. The coaching clinic, which will be conducted by seasoned football experts begins on Monday, 3rd to 7th of March, 2025 at the NUJ Press Centre, Ekeki, Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital. Disclosing this to newsmen in Yenagoa, the Director General of the Prosperity cup Central Organizing Committee, Mr.Ono Akpe explained that the event, which is the first of two coaching clinics that will hold in course of this year's football fiesta, will have fifty coaches in attendance.
