The Senior Special Assistant to the Edo State Governor on Sports has promised that the Edo State Government and Management of the Club will do everything possible to retain Coach Moses Aduku after his NWFL Super Six triumph in Yenagoa.

He said this during an interview with Sports Journalists at the teams' hotel after the game between former Champions Bayelsa Queens at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa.

He said that Coach Aduku is a disciplined man and a rear breed in Nigerian Women Football circle. From controlling the diet of his players to the tactical aspect of his coaching career with the team.

He added that Coach Aduku will not be allowed to leave Edo Queens unlike the way Bayelsa Queens allowed him to leave before the start of WAFU ZONE "B" Champions League Tournament. 


He said that the Administration of His Excellency Godwin Obaseki will provide everything that's needed for the team to achieve its goals in the upcoming WAFU ZONE "B" and potentially qualifying for the Champions League proper.

When quized on Edo Queens chances of going a step further than their neighbors Delta Queens, Mr. Omokhagbor said that everything needed for a successful WAFU ZONE "B" Competition will be provided and that the government and management of Edo Queens have full confidence on the abilities of Coach Moses Aduku and his coaching crew in taking the team forward.

Hon. Sixtus emphasized on the government readiness to support the team by saying that Edo Queens had one of the best preparations of any of the participating teams in the Super Six by having proper camping and increase in winning bonuses before the start of the competition from N600,000 (Six Hundred Thousand Naira) to N1,400,000 (One Million Four Hundred Thousand Naira) for Home wins and from N1,200,000 (One Million Two Hundred Thousand Naira) (to N2,800,000 (Two Million Eight Hundred Thousand Naira) for Away games.

He believes that such motivations played a huge role in spuring the girls to victory.

Edo Queens were crowned the Champions of the Nigeria Women Football League for the first time in their history after a final day drama, having played out a 1-1 draw against host Bayelsa Queens.

Though they needed a favour from Heartland Queens who held favourites Rivers Angels in a similar scoreline at the Nembe City Stadium to emerge champions with 10 out of 15 points.
