All is set for the maiden edition of the Yenagoa Constituency 1 Unity Beach Soccer Tournament 2024.

Folowing the inauguration of the competition's committee members by the sponsor in handling the affairs of the tournament by The Member representing the good people of Yenagoa Constituency 1 in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly. Honourable Chief Ayibanegiyefa Egba in a statement sign by the LOC Chairman Hon. Munasue Markbere and the Secretary Comrade Clement Monovie Lanny the tournament's aim is to bring together young talents from across the communities, fostering not only their soccer skills but also encouraging teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
The Technical Director of the tournament Coach Ada Gwegwe thanked The Member representing the good people of Yenagoa Constituency 1 in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly. Honourable Chief Ayibanegiyefa Egba for sponsoring such an event. He emphasized that the Beach Soccer Tournament tagged "UKPEDIANMOVU" was a welcome development especially in the constituency.
According to Coach Gwegwe, It is sad that if you want to talk about beach soccer in Nigeria, Bayelsa State's name will not be mentioned despite all the beach and sand filed all over the state.
"I think we must also look towards this direction if we must get our players to the beach soccer National team this is the way to go" he said.
Coach Ada Gwegwe added that it is the second beach soccer tournament organised in Bayelsa State this year, according to him Hon. Wisdom Fafi earlier this year organized a beach soccer tournament in his constituency at Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government with so many young players indicating interest in Beach Soccer.
While commending Hon. Chief Ayibanegiyefa Egba for this initiative, Coach Ada also called on Multi National, Oil Companies, Banks, Business outfits, Corporate bodies NGO'S, Politicians and well meaning individuals for partnership and support as this is one way to promote the grwoth of youths and soccer in the state.
The Tournament will kick start by December 2024, According to the LOC Chairman Hon. Munasue Markbere, date for collection of registration forms will be made known to the general public by next week.
