Top Dignitaries, Sports stakeholders meets Players and Coaches of Yenagoa City Football Academy.

As part of efforts in promoting grassroots football development and encouraging of children in the state, the Management and Coaches of Yenagoa City Football Academy was spoken to by dignitaries after the game between Bayelsa United vs Heartland Football Club at the Samson Siasia Stadium.
The Member representing Kolokuma/Opokuma Constituency II at the Bayelsa State House of Assembly Honourable Wisdom Fafi met with the players, he gave them words of wisdom and also promised to donate two sets of jerseys, two sets of football boots for two players as encouragement for the delovoment of grassroots football in the state.
Also the Chairman of Trade Union Congress (TUC), Bayelsa state. Comrade Julius Laye who is a father to one of the academy players advised the kids on the importance of Education and Sports, he also used the past and present chairmen of Bayelsa United as a case study for the kids.
Mr. Laye Julius also made a pledge of N100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Naira) to support the Academy.
Director General Bayelsa Governor's Cup known as Prosperity Cup addressed the kids and told the players to be disciplined and also advised them to listened to their Coaches at all times.
According to him, "If you must make it in football you have to be disciplined and also by respecting your coaches"
He further praised Coach Ada Gwegwe for keeping up with the development of grassroots football for all these years in the State. Emphasizing that our football can only get better with development programmes like this. Mr. Akpe promised to support the academy in in any capacity he can.
Bayelsa born International Footballer
Mr. Peter Ebimobowei while addressing the kids acknowledged Mr. Ada Gwegwe was the coach that spotted him in yenagoa and also gave him the platform to start his footballing career in Bayelsa United d Feeders Team before he got promoted to the seniors team and went ahead to play in football internationally.
Ebimabowei also emphasized on discipline and education in sports. He also promised to support the academy in his little way as part of his support for grassroots football development in Bayelsa state.
The President and C.E.O. of Yenagoa City Football Academy Mr. Ada Gwegwe thanked everyone of them for the honour given to him coming to encourage the young players and also supporting the careers of these young footballers.
