Hon. Wisdom Fafi fulfills his promise made to the Yenagoa City Academy.


As he donated Jerseys, Balls and Boots to the team

The Honourable Member representing KOLGA Constituency II at the Bayelsa State House of Assembly Hon. Wisdom Fafi today Friday 8th November, 2024 at the early hours of the morning fulfilled his promise made towards the Yenagoa City Academy on the 20th of October, 2024. This gesture or promise was fulfilled Nineteen days after he made the promise to the team at the Samson Siasia Stadium, in Yenagoa.

Hon. Fafi presented two sets of branded Jerseys, Two Footballs and Two Boots to two exceptional players from the team as his way of motivating them. The presentation of these items were made at the training pitch of the Academy at Oxbow-Lake training pitch.

Hon. Wisdom Fafi said that he wants the kids to be better persons in the society, hence his decision to assist in his own little way he could. 


"We want them to be better persons in the society, so we have to encourage them. These kids are the future of tomorrow and gestures like these, can never be quantified because you never can tell where they'll be playing tomorrow".

On his part, the Founder and Coach of the Academy, Mr. Ada Gwegwe thanked Hon. Wisdom Fafi for fulfilling his promise towards the kids and prayed for the Almighty to bless him with wisdom just like his name implies.


Mr. Ada added that the academy have produced lots of talents from the state, including some of the players in the current Bayelsa United set up. And with donations like these, the academy will go far.

Coach Gwegwe also used the opportunity to call on corporate entities, multinational companies and private individuals to assist academies like the Yenagoa City Academy.

The Yenagoa City Academy is a Yenagoa based football academy that trains at the Oxbow-Lake training pitch, Swali, Yenagoa.

Computer Science Department emerged the overall champions of University of Africa Inter Departmental Games

The Department of Computer Science were crowned the overall champions of the maiden edition of the Inter Departmental Games  while Educational Management was the winner of the football at the University of Africa Toru-Orua. The closing  ceremony took place after the final of the Football competition ended 5-4 on penalties in favour of The Educational Management Department after a goal was draw in the regulation time against the Political Science  Science Department. 7TH EDITION OF THE BAYELSA KID'S CUP: NEMBE LGA EMERGE CHAMPIONS OF BAYELSA KIDS CUP;

.              Champions Nembe LGA  The 7th edition of the Bayelsa Kids Cup climaxed in a grand style at the main bowl of the Samson Siasia Sports Complex in Yenagoa, in the presence of dignitaries and football spectators who trooped in in their numbers to catch a glimpse of the action. Nembe local government area defeated their opponents, Yenagoa local government area two goals to nil to win the 2024 edition. Two goals in each half was enough to separate both sides, in the pulsating finals tht saw the young lads expressing determination to showcase themselves despite the minor downpour.
