The Maiden Edition of the Yenagoa Constituency 1 Unity Beach Soccer Tournament set to kick off

The Maiden Edition of the Yenagoa Constituency 1 Beach Soccer Tournament will kick-off on the 14th of December 2024.

This was made known by the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) Chairman Hon. Munasue Markbere as he also announced that everything that's needed for a hitch free competition is ready.

He added that the date for collection of branded jerseys by the participating teams will take place on Saturday, 7th of December, 2024 and will be presented to them by the Sponsor Hon. (Chief) Ayibanegiyefa Egba and accompanied by the Director General of the Competition Chief Hon. Zebakeme Natus.

Speaking after the draws of the competition by the Organizing Committee, The Technical Director of the tournament Coach Ada Gwegwe thanked the Member representing the good people of Yenagoa Constituency 1 in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly. Honourable Chief Ayibanegiyefa Egba for her vision and efforts in sponsoring the tournament. 

He emphasize that the Beach Soccer Tournament was a welcome development in the state, and most especially in the constituency. 

According to Coach Gwegwe, it is the first of its kind in the Constituency and it's an opportunity for the young boys in the Constituency to make it through Beach Soccer and not only through football. 

"It is not everyone that will make it in football, and Beach Soccer brings an enormous opportunity for the players"

"I think we must also look towards this direction if we must get our players to the Beach Soccer National team this is the way to go" he added.

This is the second Beach Soccer Tournament organised in the state and the first of its kind in the Yenagoa Constituency I.

‎Prosperity Cup Organizers to Commence Sale of Registration Forms ‎

Eguavoen, Fuludu, lead NFF team to Yenagoa for 3rd Prosperity Cup Coaching Clinic.

The Organizers of Nigeria's largest and most prestigious grassroots football showpiece, the prosperity cup in Bayelsa State are putting a week coaching clinic together to update and sharpen the technical abilities of coaches participating in this year's edition of the competition. The coaching clinic, which will be conducted by seasoned football experts begins on Monday, 3rd to 7th of March, 2025 at the NUJ Press Centre, Ekeki, Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital. Disclosing this to newsmen in Yenagoa, the Director General of the Prosperity cup Central Organizing Committee, Mr.Ono Akpe explained that the event, which is the first of two coaching clinics that will hold in course of this year's football fiesta, will have fifty coaches in attendance.
